James Gorst - Principal

After reading architecture at Cambridge, James worked for Sir Denys Lasdun and John Outram before starting his own practice in 1981. He has lectured at the Royal Academy and has taught at various schools of architecture as well as being an RIBA external examiner.

Isabel Brebbia - Architect

BSc, Dip Arch, ARB

Isabel studied at The University of Edinburgh and The Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL, where she later ran a design unit for two years. Isabel worked with Enric Miralles in Barcelona and in London with Waugh Thistleton and then as an associate at Alsop Architects, running the award-winning OCAD Building in Toronto, before joining James Gorst Architects in 2004.

Pat West - Architect

BEDS, M Arch, ARB

Pat studied at the Dalhousie University, Halifax Canada before moving to London in 1997. Pat has worked for John McAslan & Partners, Sarah Hare Architects and East Architecture before joining James Gorst Architects in 2010. Pat has taught at University East London and has been visiting critic at Plymouth University.

Sarah Graveston - Consultant

BA

Sarah studied Textile Design at the Central School of Art, London and has worked since designing wallpapers and furnishing fabrics for Colefax & Fowler and George Spencer Designs. She teaches an annual project for post-graduated students at the Royal College of art, and has original wallpaper designs in the V&A collection and in the Cooper-Hewitt Museum in New York.

David Roy - Associate

BSc, Dip Arch, M Arch, ARB

David studied degree and diploma at The Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL. David worked for Pierre d’Avione Architects, London and Candelepas Associates, Australia before returning to The Bartlett to complete a Masters in Architectural Practice. He joined James Gorst Architects in 2005.

Lyn Ang - Architect

BA Hons, Dip Arch, ARB

Lyn studied at the University of Tasmania, Australia, the University of Liverpool, and the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL. She worked at Penoyre & Prasad LLP in her year out, and joined James Gorst Architects upon graduating from the Bartlett in 2006.

Alex Doran - Architectural Assistant

BSc(Hons), Dip Arch

Alex studied degree and diploma in architecture at University College Dublin. Before joining James Gorst Architects in 2010 Alex worked for MCO Architecture, Dublin, Solinas Verd Arquitectos, Seville and Tierney Hanes Architects in Ireland.

Marie Brunborg - Associate

BSc, Dip Arch

Marie read Architecture at Oxford Brookes University and at London Metropolitan University. She worked at Sergison Bates before spending 7 years Maccreanor Lavington Architects, London. Marie has also worked for Tony Fretton Architects as well as running a design unit at London Met. She joined James Gorst Architects in 2005.

Zoë Polya-Vitry - Architect

Zoë read architecture at Cambridge University. She has worked in Belgium and Italy for Sergio Los, Carlo Scarpa’s collaborator, and in London with Walters & Cohen, Project Orange and Haworth Tompkins, before joining James Gorst Architects in 2007.

Stephen Tierney - Architect

Ba(Hons), BSc.Arch, Dip Arch

Stephen took a degree in History of Art at University College, Dublin before reading architecture at the Bartlett School of Architecture, London. Stephen worked for Ian Ritchie Architects before joining James Gorst Architects in 2001 and since 2004 Stephen has worked as a consultant.
